Where should I fly to?

We strongly suggest you fly into the international airport of Puerto Plata (POP) which is 20mn away or alternatively into Santiago airport (STI) which is 90mn away. We will organize your transfer both to and from the airport.

What is included in the price?

All activities, food, lodging, drinks, local transportation and airport transfers are included in our all-inclusive pricing. Just book your flights and let us take care of the rest.

I never surfed, can I practice Surfasana?

Yes. Surfasana has been specifically designed as an inclusive practice, open to surfers of all levels. In fact, if you’ve never surfed before, we believe there is no better way to discover the practice than Surfasana.

Is Surfasana risky?

As with any physical activity, correct practice means safe practice. Rest assured, under the expert guidance of our Surfasana instructors, you couldn’t be in safer hands.

What fitness level do I need to practice Surfasana?

Surfasana is an inclusive practice that is open to everyone. However, while there will be ample time for rest and relaxation, the retreat program involves at least 3 hours of intensive workout time every day. How many people participate in the Surfasana retreat?

While the size of our retreat groups can vary, we have a maximum of 12 per retreat. Our priority is to provide the one-on-one focus you need to take the Surfasana practice with you into every aspect of your life.

What should I bring?

The beautifully warm and humid climate of the Dominican Republic means light & comfortable clothing, sunscreen, insect repellent and sunglasses are a must. For your practice, you’ll need comfortable clothes for yoga, swimsuits (more than one, if possible) and of course, an open mind.

Can I come by myself / as a couple / with friends?

Yes. The Surfasana retreat is open to groups of all sizes and in fact, we’d encourage you to experience the practice with your loved ones. There are several room types available, but if you have any specific group requirements, please reach out at conversation@surfasana.com

Is it safe to travel to Cabarate and the Dominican Republic?

Yes. Cabarete is among the safest areas in the Dominican Republic. The US State Department has given the Dominican Republic a Level 2 travel advisory, the same as developed European countries such as France, Spain, Germany and the UK.

Do I need a visa?

There is no need to buy a visitors visa, as this will be automatically included in your airfare.
